Agentic Core

The Agentic Core extension integrates AI-based systems directly with Open6GCore.
It connects AI agents to the shared data backbone through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, enabling controlled access to network information and operational capabilities. The Figure shows an example deployment and the corresponding integration interfaces. Green components indicate external or custom elements that can be integrated with the platform. The remaining components are provided by Open6GCore or its Agentic Core extension.

The Open6GCore MCP server provides tools for both the reference Open6GCore AI agent and customer-developed agents. These tools support information retrieval as well as controlled, live reconfiguration of the core network.

  • Configuration and deployment control: Modify parameters in the running core network.
  • Dynamic protocol reconfiguration: Trigger handovers between standard 5G NGAP-based interfaces and an experimental 6G point-to-point HTTP/3 interface.
  • Dynamic functional composition: Adapt the composition of network functions and services to improve performance or meet use-case requirements.
  • UE user-assistant agent: Provide an interface through which mobile-network users can interact with core-network control mechanisms, including mechanisms that influence handover decisions.
  • End-to-end testing: Configure and execute end-to-end tests using defined parameter sets.

The toolset is modular and can be adapted or extended to address project-specific requirements.
