Experimental Validation and Benchmarking

Measure the complete end-to-end system

Experimental validation requires more than measuring the core network in isolation. Open6GCore supports end-to-end measurement and observability across UE, RAN, core, transport, edge/cloud and applications, allowing system behavior to be analyzed across technology boundaries.

Measurements from different domains can be combined and correlated in time. This makes it possible to relate application behavior to radio conditions, mobility events, core-network procedures, transport-path changes and infrastructure load.

End-to-end observability turns isolated measurements into system-level understanding.

Combine UE, RAN, core, transport and application measurements to identify where behavior originates and how changes propagate through the complete 5G/6G system.

Validation and benchmarking

The same observability infrastructure can be used to compare algorithms, configurations, implementations, and architectures under controlled conditions.

Experiments can systematically vary network conditions, traffic, topology, mobility and configuration while observing the resulting behavior across the complete system.

Relevant KPIs can include:

  • end-to-end latency and latency variation
  • throughput and packet rate
  • packet loss and reliability
  • deterministic delivery and time-to-content
  • handover interruption and service continuity
  • control-plane procedure times
  • radio and transport conditions
  • scalability and resource consumption
  • application-level performance
