Tell us what you want to build, integrate or validate
A first discussion can start from a research question, an existing prototype, a testbed requirement, a funded project or a difficult integration problem.
Fraunhofer FOKUS can assess what already exists in Open6GCore, which parts of the experimentation environment can be reused, and what needs to be added to reach a working and validated result.
You don’t need a complete or precise discription to start. Work through the requirements with us, clarify the experimentation environment, identify the relevant Open6GCore components and define the appropriate collaboration model as the project takes shape.
Does this sound like your project?
- We have a 5G/6G research question and need an implementation and validation environment.
- We have an algorithm or concept that should move from simulation into a running network.
- We have a prototype or third-party technology that needs to be integrated into a 5G/6G system.
- We need a 5G/6G or 6G testbed for research, integration or validation.
- We need to combine RAN, core, transport, edge/cloud, NTN, devices or applications in one end-to-end environment.
- We need to bring the remaining components of a funded research project together into an operational testbed, demonstrator or validation environment.
- We need source-code access to modify or extend network functionality.
- We need end-to-end observability, measurements, validation or benchmarking across UE, RAN, core, transport and applications.
- We are preparing a demonstrator, trial or pilot and need the complete system to work together.
- We have a concrete industry or standardization question that requires implementation and experimental evidence.
- We need to solve a complex integration or interoperability problem across several parts of the 5G/6G system.
What should you send us?
A short first description is enough. Useful information includes:
- The target TRL, demonstrator, trial or validation result
- What you want to investigate, integrate or validate
- What technology, software or prototype already exists
- Which parts of the 5G/6G system are involved
- What kind of experimentation environment or testbed is required
- Whether the work should run at FOKUS, at your premises or in a distributed setup
- Whether source-code access is required
- The expected project timeframe
Bring the research question, technology or integration challenge.
We identify what can be reused, what needs to be integrated or developed, and how to reach an operational and validated 5G/6G result efficiently.
